While on international duty, Chairman Mike Jones caught up with fellow red wall member Geography George who had a message for the supporters trust.

Mike was also able to catch up with Welsh comedian, presenter and Cymru Connector Elis James, who had a message for the Rhyl faithful

Former professional Graham Williams sent us a message that he wanted us to share to the Rhyl expressing his delight of Rhyl getting back to winning ways. Graham was born in Henllan, a Rhyl academy product but made his mark as a footballer at West Brom where he spent his entire 17 year career, he also won the Fa Cup and represented Wales during his career.

Quiz Night Success at Rhyl Victory Club

Quiz Night Success at Rhyl Victory Club
The Rhyl Football Club Supporters Trust’s second annual Quiz Night proved to be a fantastic evening, drawing a full house at the Rhyl Victory Club and delivering an exciting finish with new champions crowned. Fifteen teams competed across five challenging quiz rounds, plus a tense “Guess Who” section. With defending champions Sons of Glyndwr, Derwen Exiles, and No Expenses Spared locked in a tight race, it all came down to the final general knowledge round. In a nail-biting finish, No Expenses Spared edged ahead to take the win, with Derwen Exiles securing a strong second place. The night concluded with a trophy presentation, thanks to the generous support of Ranger Trophys, who provided prizes for both the winners and runners-up. The event raised over £300, and in a generous show of appreciation, the Trust also donated £100 to the Victory Club to support their fundraising efforts for a new defibrillator. A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the evening such a success. Here's to an even bigger Quiz Night next year!

In Memory of Michael 'Taff' Evans & Paul Edwards

A Tribute from the Rhyl Supporters Family As 2024 drew to a close, our Rhyl Supporters Family was deeply saddened by the loss of two beloved members — Michael 'Taff' Evans and Paul Edwards. Remembering Michael 'Taff' EvansWe are devastated by the passing of Michael 'Taff' Evans, a loyal Lilywhite whose presence on the Grange Road End was a constant through the highs and lows of Rhyl FC. 'Taff' was more than a supporter — he was the embodiment of what it means to follow this club with heart and soul. His passion, dedication, and unwavering belief in Rhyl FC will never be forgotten.'Taff'’s legacy continues through his daughter, Chloe Evans, who proudly represented Rhyl Ladies and contributed to the club’s ongoing story. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Chloe and the entire Evans family during this incredibly difficult time.Remembering Paul Edwards. We also mourn the loss of Paul Edwards, a long-time supporter of the club and a proud father to Jason and Stephen, both of whom have given so much of their time and commitment as dedicated volunteers at Rhyl. Paul's support for Rhyl FC spanned many years, and his memory will live on in the spirit of those who continue to serve the club as he did.In a gesture of solidarity and respect, the supporters have donated our share of the "Last One Standing" contribution to the Edwards family, to help with any unforeseen costs they may have faced during this difficult period. Both 'Taff' and Paul were part of what makes Rhyl FC special — a club built on community, loyalty, and love for the badge. Graham’s Sponsored Walks Raise Vital Funds for Rhyl 1879

During the challenging winter months of 2024, when Rhyl 1879 had no home games in January and vital revenue was missed, Graham Cartilidge stepped up—quite literally—to support the club. Alongside some willing participants, Graham completed two sponsored walks to raise essential operating funds for the Trust. His first walk on Saturday 24th February was a huge success, raising an incredible £550. Undeterred, Graham laced up his walking boots again at the start of the 2024/25 season for another trek to St Asaph on Wednesday 28th August, adding an impressive £350 to the fundraising total. The Trust are immensely grateful for Graham’s dedication and to everyone who donated. For now, Graham has hung up his boots and is giving his knees a well-earned rest—but his efforts will be remembered along with his many years of service to local football. Thank you, Graham!

Last one standing

Last one standing
Our popular Last One Standing competition, based on Premier League results, has grown from strength to strength! With over 100 participants each round, it’s become a highlight of our fundraising efforts. Here’s how it works: Pick one Premier League team to win each gameweek. You can’t pick the same team twice. Get it wrong, and you’re out. Last one standing wins! 💰 Prize Pot: 50% goes to the winner, 50% supports the Supporters Trust. After two rollovers, we had four winners last season – proof that it’s not as easy as it sounds! We’re kicking things off again with the new season in August 2026. To join, just get in touch with any member of the committee. Don't miss out – it’s competitive, fun, and all for a great cause!

Update on progress

When this group was first established in July 2023 one of our stated aims was to work with the Football Supporters’ Association to progress our work. The aim was to establish, should there be interest in the group, a Community Benefit Society, which would be the legal vehicle to take forward our aims to work with others including the club board, and seek to raise the significant funding needed to purchase Belle Vue. The Football Supporters’ Association have advised that their rules contain strict criteria for supporter groups using the name of ‘trust’. Criteria that our group does not currently meet. The interim Committee have considered possible options and have agreed a rename to the Rhyl Football Club Supporters Team (RFCST). This is to emphasise our approach to working as a team with as many interested parties as possible. The RFCST are hoping to commence dialogue shortly with the Football Supporters’ Association regarding the transition to becoming a formal Trust. We will keep all Members updated on progress towards this including holding an open meeting for Members to consider in detail this option to become a Community Benefit Society.

Honorary Vice President - Caryl James

Honorary Vice President - Caryl James
One of the Trust commitments is to ensure that Rhyl FC history is never forgotten and what is more fitting than having Caryl James, the wife of the late George James as a figurehead of the Trust. Anybody connected with Rhyl FC will know that Belle Vue was George's second home, having represented the club as player, subsequently becoming the groundsman. George was instrumental in the building of the NWPS suite, and has a stand named after him. George's effort at Belle Vue was monumental and classing him as a Club Legend is truly deserved.

Christmas Childrens Ward Visit

Christmas Childrens Ward Visit
The Rhyl Football Club Supporters Trust brought some festive cheer to the Children’s Ward at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd as they visited with presents for the children on the ward this Christmas. Trust Fundraiser Graham Cartlidge suggested resurrecting the visit from representatives of the town’s Football Club. Previous visits have seen players and management visiting children to spread the festive cheer. The Trust Committee members dug deep and with the support of donations from companies such as Morrisons, Playmobil, Perham Prints and Wrexhub, they visited the ward to provide gifts for the children and presents for the nursing staff on the ward. The Trust hope that these gifts will help provide some Christmas cheer to the children who are in hospital at this time of year and we wish them and their families all the best for Christmas. If you would like to join the Trust, our new membership sign up process on the website is available here.
